Expedient delivers innovative IP and telecommunications services, is headquartered in Pittsburgh, has multi-state operations and serves 30 U.S. markets.  Expedient is looking for a qualified Microsoft Windows Systems Engineer to work as part of a team of five Microsoft System Professionals responsible for maintenance, configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of all Windows 2000 & 2003 systems, as well as associated applications and services.  The team is accountable for over 100 Windows servers in a 24x7 data center environment servicing both customers and internal clients.  Expedient offers a competitive pay and benefits package, including health, dental and vision insurance, reimbursement accounts, life insurance, paid time off, company holidays and a 401(k) program with a company match.  The selected candidate will report to the Manager of Data Center Solutions, and will be located in Pittsburgh, PA.  Expedient is owned by Continental Broadband, Inc., a Landmark Communications? company which is a privately-held media and information company. www.landmarkcommunications.com 

Primary Functions:

?  Configure and administer Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 servers in production and development environments.

?  Adhering to industry best-practices, support and maintain Active Directory, Exchange 2003, MS SQL Server 2000, IIS 6, Terminal Services, and various other applications and services.

?  Interface with customers and vendors to isolate and resolve technical issues.

?  Maintain accurate documentation as it relates to the current system configurations.

?  Collaborate with the Sales organization to make certain customer needs are met.

Qualifications:

?  3+ years of Windows 2000/2003 server management experience

?  Advanced hands-on experience administering Active Directory, Exchange and Terminal Services

?  Understanding of relational database systems, with specific emphasis on MS SQL Server

?  Securing Windows Application services in Corporate Enterprise and ASP environments

?  Experience evaluating and recommending solutions to complex technical problems and requirements

?  Ability to handle 24x7 on-call rotation 1 week per month
