The IT Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of a highly reliable data network at a favorable cost that will provide a variety of GPRS/EDGE and data applications.
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign, Provision, Inventory and provide Network drawings for Mobile Packet.Backbone Network (MPBN) and Maintenance WAN (MWAN)Fault, Configuration and Performance Management MWAN/MPBNInstall new Hardware and Software on the MPBN/MWANAdminister the IP address database for the MWAN/MPBN and peripheral switch equipmentInvestigate new generation data elements and solutions for GSM/GPRS/EDGE NetworksSubject matter expert on Centennial?s data network and GPRS/EDGE data applicationsForecasting network growthNegotiate contracts with equipment and service vendorsBudget for annual system support fees
Requirements:Excellent PC skills in Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access developmentProficient in IP networking and applicationsExperience with GSM/GRPS data networking, SUN Solaris, NT and LynuxExperience in firewall and data security is a mustBachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Information TechnologyMinimum one year experience with GSM wireless data networksMinimum two years experience working with IP network design and administration
Additional InformationFrequent travel within a six state market area Must be available for occasional nights/weekend work
