Network Management Center Tech I
Job Description Proactively monitor alarms on McLeodUSA network. Individual must analyze alarms, proceed with dispatch of appropriate operations staff, provide escalation, and documentation of all alarm or trouble reports. Also responsible for maintaining central point of contact and documentation of communication during system maintenance as well as trouble resolution situations.
Job Summary
Technicians’ primary responsibilities include the performance of specialized work in which employees are applying technical knowledge in the gathering, coordination, production, research, and problem-solving necessary for execution of department objectives/goals. Tasks are typically routine, and are completed and resolved through the use of pre-determined processes and policies. In many cases, technicians may be involved in installation and/or maintenance activities.
Experience Requirements
Must be able to troubleshoot: private line DSO though OC-192 carrier services, Frame Relay, CISCO routers, ATM, Modems, SONET, Voice Switches, SS-7, Ethernet Switches, DACS, IP layer 3 fault resolution, IMT’s and Mux. Must have a basic understanding of BGP, and IGRP, routing protocols.
Leadership Standards
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Education Requirements
Vocational degree or 3 years experience.
