Company Summary:

Due to the demand for our services, we are in need of a Nortel Technician to add to our CPE team. In business since 1987, USTeleCenters is a locally owned and operated Authorized Agent for Nortel Networks.  We provide sales and service of Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) for the Norstar and BCM line of Nortel Telephone Equipment. These telephony services are offered to small and medium-sized businesses throughout New England and beyond.  We also offer additional voice and data products on behalf of Broadview Networks, XO Communications, One Communications, Bizfon, and Covad Communications.  We are based in Quincy, MA.

 

Position Summary:

In this Technician?s position, the candidate must have the ability to program and install Nortel telephony equipment for the Norstar and BCM line. Product line includes the Compact and Modular ICS, BCM and all peripheral equipment, including voicemail, etc.  

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

? Travel to various customer sites in New England via USTeleCenters-supplied vehicle to install, upgrade and service Nortel phone systems and resolve telephony issues.

? Install and cross-connect Cat. 3 and Cat. 5 cabling to phone systems as required at customer sites.

? Program Nortel phone systems and troubleshoot voicemail and system administration issues.

? Provide training to customers on telephone and voicemail administration.

? Promote USTeleCenters services and provide exceptional customer service both during and after the service visit.

? Ability to survey sites and relay information for use in configuring new telephone system installations.

 

Necessary Knowledge and Skills: (Minimum experience, qualifications, specific skills)

 

? Must have at least 6 months experience servicing the Nortel Norstar Telephone system.

? BCM experience preferred

? Experience with Cat. 3 and Cat. 5 cabling installation.

? Good interpersonal, verbal, written and communications skills.

? Proven ability to organize, prioritize responsibilities and work with little supervision.

? Must have valid drivers license and exceptional driving record.

? Computer literate and able to perform basic functions.
