Nortel or Avaya PBX Switch Technician

Our client, located on Boston's Southshore, is looking for someone with PBX experience, both with moves, adds, changes and some programming, with either (or both) the Avaya or Nortel switches.Further requirements include experience managing projects and strong written/verbal skills.

 

Requirements:3-5 yr telecom exp.Telecom System programming abilityExp with Nortel 11c's, 61C's and 81c's or Avaya Definity BCS  Telecommunication switching & peripherals (hardware and software)Integrated telecom solution technologies (IVR, ACD, Call Center)Able to manage projectsSelf StarterVoIP

 

Responsibilities:This position is more strategic than hands on troubleshooting. However, will take level 3 calls.Designs, programs, installs and maintains voice technology systems, including voice, mail, cellular and paging equipment.Development, implementation, and monitoring of methodologies for analysis, installation and support of voice communications systems.Interfaces with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.Communicates status of network problems and events.Installs, maintains, supports and troubleshoots selected hardware, storage and network components.Program, install and maintain voice technology systems, including switching systems, voice, mail, cellular and paging equipment.Develops and performs technical moves, adds and changes at all sites. Develops and implements methodologies for analysis, installation and support of voice communications systems.Participates in audits of floor plans, databases, PBX's, voicemail systems and other related systems.Interfaces with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
