OSP Planner I

This entry level position is responsible for providing ADC?s customers with highly reliable customer service in support of their OSP services.  Position is located at various sites.  Normal work schedule is forty (40) hours per week and is typically performed between 8am to 4:30pm M-F.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Perform all necessary research of OSP records and databases to gather information pertaining to the development of planning handoff packages.  Determine backbone fiber and structure information. DA/CSA redesign Monitoring and escalating for resolution, any critical issues which put the network build site schedule in jeopardy. Collecting and correcting errors when possible and updating IMPACT with the final results. Demonstrate technical aptitude.

Basic Responsibilities:

?  Projects for Temporary Plant Additions

?  Budget

Forecast:Update Wire Center development log with known or newly identified projects or changes in project status, including legal mandates. Provide forecast based on route plan commitments and new RT activation. Forecast Wire Center Floor and Frame space requirements based on equipment activation. Maintain database(s) to provide equipment and miscellaneous forecasts on demand.

Experience in the following Planning Systems is desired but not necessary:

?  Automated records and engineering systems.

?  Planning cost analysis tools.

?  Facility and equipment planning systems.

?  Tracking tools for plant rehabilitation.

?  Loop engineering assignment data systems.

?  Loop engineering information systems.

?  Loop facility assignment systems.

?  Network capacity management systems.

?  Budgeting and capital management systems.

?  Fiber and digital services inventory systems (?TIRKS?).

Qualifications:Strong Computer skills - Windows/Word & Excel, SAP a plus Strong Organizational Skills Strong Oral and Written Communications Skills 1-3 years OSP experience Proven track record of managing multiple projects Basic understanding of technical aspects of project including: Fiber Optics testing (1310/1490) - knowledge of Outside Plant - Primary Flexibility Point - Fiber Serving Terminal - SAIC - VRAD and Network Interface Devices. DA/CSA design SAI Feeder Lateral and Structure Network Elements Asynchronous Transfer Mode - POTS ? Voice Over Internet Protocol
