Outside Plant Engr

Description: Grade 53 To provide engineering support for the Business Services group by conducting coax field feasibility surveys and coordinating with system engineering and construction groups for provisioning of data and telephony services to Cox business customers.

Obtain training and assistance from the Associate Engineer team members as it relates to the position and job duties.
Provide construction cost estimates to extend the coax network to business customers for telephone and data service.
Determine facility location (Main Point Of Presence/Demarcation).
Acquire knowledge to provide coax field survey package consisting of detailed Auto CAD drawings, digital pictures showing OSP/ISP construction tie to customer premise.
Obtain education on negotiating easements and suitable footprint for determined coax actives/passives, data and telephone demarcation equipment.
Obtaining training to negotiate and design pathways for building entrance.
Understand the market initiative for product demonstrations by engineering and construction temporary and permanent coax solutions.
Become familiar with conducting the coax quality inspection of work performed by engineering and construction contractors to ensure quality standards are met.
Become familiar with tracking budgets and maintains time schedule for successful deployment of telephony and data services over coax to satisfy customer expectation.
Become familiar with hiring contractors for construction of ISP and/or demarcation coax extensions.
Become familiar with the review process and content of the Engineering, Construction, Contractor and TMC Packets-Design, PA, permit to ensure quality of workmanship.
Become familiar with creating commercial coax project in Cornerstone.
Become familiar with writing project work order and print copies.
