Principal Security Consultant

This opportunity is for an accomplished, senior level, security practitioner, experienced in delivering consulting and managed services security assignments in a variety of customer environments.? It is a key member of the Security Practice, delivering vendor agnostic security services to Nortel?s customers.
Typical duties include:
??Deliver billable security services and solutions in their area of expertise
??Perform architecture, design, implementation, tuning, audit and review of security for systems, networks and infrastructures, for both Carriers and Enterprise clients.
??Assist with RFP responses, prepare SoW (statements of work), perform customer/prospect presentations, be involved in other pre-sales and business development activities
??Able to oversee and project manage security delivery teams composed of internal (Nortel) and/or external personnel.
??Be responsible for the timeliness and quality delivery and completion of security assignments in which they are involved
??Assist in the development, documentation, and rollout of new and innovative security solutions.
??Relate to internal and external clients about security services, their relevance to the business and their delivery in each locality
??Work with peers within Nortel and among delivery partners to ensure reliable and consistent delivery of Managed and Consultative services.
??Mentor more junior consultants and engineers
Please note there is at least 50% travel in this role.
We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 10 years industry experience, with at least 6 years experience in information security roles.? The ideal candidate will have have experience in a consulting, engineering / architecture or managed services role, with at least 2 years of team leadership.

Specific Skill Requirements:
Technical:
- Networking and routing ? TCP/IP, LAN/WAN technologies
- Operating systems ? at SysAdmin level: Unix (Solaris or Linux), Windows 2000/XP
In addition, the person must have in depth knowledge and hands on expertise in at least 2 of these areas:
- Security for Carrier Wireless (UMTS, GSM) and Fixed-line (VoIP, Data, Cable) networks
- Telecommunications systems (Voice and/or Data) and networks architecture and operation
- Information systems security architecture and operation
- Design and/or testing and implementation of security products (h/w, s/w, appliances)
- Security Policy and Procedures design and review
- Security Management and/or Strategy
- Security Compliance, Standards, Legal and regulatory, audit and review
- Vulnerability scanning, Penetration testing
- Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery planning
- Incident Response and recovery, Forensics
- Enterprise VoIP, Wi-Fi / Converged networks security
- Security engineering (Backbone, or VPN, Load-Balancing, Acceleration, PKI, etc)
- Managed security services delivery (Firewall/VPN, IDS/IPS, AV/Anti-Spam, Content Filtering ? including in Hosted environments).

Qualifications/Certifications:
Appropriate professional certifications: both vendor specific and generic (industry) ones, for example: Nortel, Check Point (CCSE / CCSA), Juniper/Netscreen, RSA ACE SecurID, ISS Proventia, Cisco (CCIE / CCNP / CCNA), Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE); Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or SANS Global Information Assurance (GSE, GSEC, GCIA, etc)
Bachelor?s (or an advanced degree) in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering or related field.
