Project Manager II, Supply Chain

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


Leads cross-functional teams in assessing level of effort required for implementation.
Develops enterprise project and communication plans.
Leads cross-functional project teams in the successful implementation of new products and services.
Conducts team meetings, documents issues, and keeps enterprise informed of project status and health. Manges change control.
Assesses project issues and areas of risk. Communicates issues and risks to project team and T-Mobile management as directed.
Measures post implementation results to determine internal and external customer satisfaction.

Functional/Technical Skills:

Knowledge of customer business - Demonstrates a clear understanding of the key customer issues and the solutions being implemented by active projects. Clearly understands the customer's business and technical constraints at all times. Demonstrates customer credibility in matters related to projects under management.
Specialization and Subject Matter Expertise - Is able to identify project team's areas of weakness and strengths. Takes pro-active steps to help the project teams shore-up deficiencies within a project. Has a general understanding of all competencies and a detailed understanding of at least two areas. Has plans to develop expertise in two additional areas.
Understands the communication needs of its customers. Consistently and effectively uses the right method of communication based on customer preference and communication relevance. Ability to clearly, consisely, and quickly communicate the right message to the right people. Handles sensitive information as such. Comfortable and confident communicating to medium size groups, as well as executives.
Communicates effectively by being clear, concise, and using adequate methods. Relies on our project workbook to communicate tasks, timelines, risks, and issues to team members. Takes and active role in ensuring the integrity of the information contained in the workbook. When appropriate takes an active role in conflict resolution.
Identifies and works effectively with key stakeholders on complex cross-team or work group projects or problems. Deals well with tough political situations. Networks effectively and is comfortable in dealing with senior management. Coaches others on how to work organizational and political situations effectively. Identifies and works through complex constraints across functional teams.
Provides high-level value in helping groups plan, organize, and coordinate their work effectively. Develops efficient work plans for complex projects involving many groups, and effectively implements and coordingates these plans. Keen understanding of relationships among various components of large-scale programs that cut across groups, organizing them such that limited resources are used effectively. Status reports are complete and ontime.
Leads teams in developing valid conclusions and identifying alternatives. Identifies likely stakeholder responses to specific recommendations. Validates assumptions and data accuracy. Takes and active role in integrating findings or technical judgments in complex analysis scenarios.Accurately differentiates the problems from the systems.
Handles tough problems and situations with little hesitation or doubt. Gladly shares credit for good work with others. Demonstrates self-assurance in leading others in difficult and challenging assignments. Has proven that his/her opinion is valuable.
Effectively handles ambiguous, dynamic tasks and assignments. Can change direction in response to changing work situations. Doesn't need things to be black and white. Able to make decisions and take action when there is not enough information to predict the consequences with certainty.
Frequently generates new ideas and approaches. Regularly contributes high quality thinking. Challenges standard approaches and ideas to see if there is a better, more effective way.
Reacts with appropriate urgency. Has a bias for action. Has a good sense of timing for action, understanding that too late may mean never and too early may waste resources.
Analyzes and organizes complex information from a specific content area, identifying key issues, assessing impact, and drawing reasonable conclusions. Is able to apply and explain logic related to problems or opportunities. Roots out flaws in own thinking and that of others.
Makes good, timely decisions in relatively complex situations. Asks questions and collects information to gain an accurate understanding of possible alternatives before making a decision. Makes decisions that impact people within multiple groups. Makes good decisions even under high uncertainty or pressure. Applies "lessons learned" to current decisions. Appropriately involves others in decisions that affect them.
Intitiates contact and builds good working relationshisp that last over time with people inside and outside current otganization. Adjusts his/her behavior and communication to accomoodate working styles and perspectives of diverse individuals
Can clearly document goals and objectives of complex projects. Can clearly define the scope of projects requiring complex sets of cross-functional activities. Can proactively control the scope of project activities by anticipating scope questions and providing clear instructions to the project team. Follows a defined process for scope change.
Identifies gaps in governance for projects. Works both proactively and responsively with business owners, and stakeholders. Escalates major governance issues.
Produces high-quality project management documentation with no assistance. Can develop executive summaries of issues and other matters with little or no assistance. Takes responsibility for documentation storage and archiving.
Maintains a resource matrix of all resources to be proactively prepared for all projects. Develops cooperative relationships with members of the team and keeps them aware of complex projects. Understands resource requirements, and takes action to remove any constraints. maintains accurate and up to date hours on all project work. Is proactive in planning ahead for new projects and availablity.
Maintains relationships with critical key stakeholders and business owners of the project to stay ahead of any potential issues. Properly uses the escalation process in a timely manner. Clearly understands when an issue warrants escalation and effectively determines issue priority, resolution date issue, and owner with very little supervisor interaction. Demonstrates ability to resolve most issues. Identifies what is an issue and what is a risk. Is able to quantify risk with impacts and probability.
Maintains relationships with critical key stakeholders of the project to stay ahead of any potential change control items. Properly uses the change control process in a timely manner. Demonstrates the ability to manage this process with no supervision. Ability to resolve complex scope changes.
Is capable of outlining a clear direction for team members and can motivate them toward company and team goals.

Education & Experience

3 years broad T-Mobile operational experience.
3 - 5 years managing projects.
Participation in at least one large-scale cross-functional project.
Project management certification or training a plus.
Bachelors degree (BA) from four year college/university or equivalent work experience.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Project, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
