We are a developer and provider of high-performance broadband customer-premises networking equipment and carrier-class software for the remote management of broadband services and equipment. We also develop and provide broadband-enabled services and remote-management software for enterprises' technical support, help desks, and personal computers.

 

As QA Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading the existing QA test network, equipment and lab as required for testing hardware, firmware, and systems. The lab environment consists of DSLAM equipment from multiple vendors, routers, switches and other test equipment. Responsibilities will include maintaining existing equipment, upgrading equipment, identifying and purchasing new equipment and incorporating equipment into the test network, and maintaining the lab infrastructure (power needs, cabling, etc.). As a member of the QA team, will also be responsible for set up and replication of customer test environments and reported problems. Must be self-motivated and directed to work with minimal supervision.

Additional duties will include:Reviewing requirements, RFCs and design documents to understand equipment needs for new features or functionality testing; Planning, scheduling, specifying, and recommending equipment purchases and/or services to meet testing efforts within the development cycle schedule; Responsibility for equipment configuration backup; Support scripting of management interfaces for routine commands; Undertake product QA testing, as needed; REQUIREMENTS:

Must Haves:BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience; 3+ years of lab maintenance experience in a QA environment; Background and understanding of TCP/IP, network topology and configuration; Demonstrated understanding of subnetting and of routing protocols; Demonstrated understanding and familiarity with various DSLAM equipment, including setup and configuration; Demonstrated understanding and familiarity with various Cisco equipment (DSLAM, routers, switches, etc.) including setup and configuration; Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Windows and Windows Networking; Knowledge and understanding of Linux ? installation, configuration; Ability to independently diagram, implement, and maintain both logical and physical network layers; Knowledge of cabling, cable types, KVM switches, etc; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Strong problem solving skills; Travel to customer, vendor, or other sites as required;

Preferred:Understanding of QA process and the software development life-cycle; Experience with DSLAM and Access Concentrator configuration; Experience with test tools such as Smartbits, Chariot, DLS400 line simulator, Packet Analyzers (Ethereal/EtherPeek); Background in ATM, xDSL, SNMP, VPN/IPSec (FreeSwan/Checkpoint) VLAN, QoS; Demonstrated experience with Router/NAT/Firewall device configuration; Knowledge of Voice/Video-Over-IP protocols Knowledge of TL1 management protocol
