RF Engineer - E911

The National E911 RF Engineering role is a subject matter expert for Cingular Wirless, responsible to provide guidance and support to regional and field RF Engineering teams. This position is national in scope and represents RF Engineering cross functionally at the national level. National RF Engineering works closely with vendors, National Compliance, National PMO, and CTO to analyze, diagnose, and drive improvements into the network. Areas of responsibility include system design methodology, performance testing methodology, test results analysis logic, prediction tool logic/functionality/quality, participation in the design review process, root cause analysis, and field trials of new features/functionality and continues to develop as the system matures.


QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a minimum of six years of engineering experience, preferably in the wireless communications industry. This will be a seasoned veteran that has held technical engineering and/or operations positions in the past. Preferred technical disciplines include RAN and E911.
Preferred candidates will have a successful track record in RF Engineering to include experience with design and performance tools as well as a background surrounding TDOA technology.

? Clear understanding of how responsibilities and deliverables contribute to company goals and the ability to rapidly adjust as the business evolves

? Distill and communicate complex technical data into a message that can be understood from an engineer to senior leadership perspective

? Ability to rapidly assess and understand the impact to E911 compliance in response to proposed changes in the Cingular wireless network

? Ability to apply logic and mathematics to solve complex technical and business problems

Preferred education is a BSEE/BEE or equivalent technical degree.
