RF Engineer with UMTS - contract to hire. 100% travel
Hudson's client is seeking Sr. RF Engineers for contract to permanent hire. This position requires travel all over the country so candidates can be located anywhere but must be willing to travel extensively.
SR RF Engineer
SR RF Engineer is responsible for first level management of system designs, system implementation, and performing system optimization activities. Engineer must also be able provide technical leadership on client engagements. Engineer must be able to lead a large team of engineers in the implementation of client projects. Engineers must also be able to interface directly with the client on a daily basis to discuss activities, project scope, and contractual obligations. The engineer must be motivated, willing to travel, and have a valid US driver?s license.
Requirements:
? Completed Radio Engineer Level Engineering Activities
? 5+ years RF Engineering experience
? 2 years Experience in a supervisory engineering role
Education:
? 4yr BSEE or equivalent required
Skills Required:
? Technical Expertise ? demonstrates ability to outline processes and procedures for design implementation and optimization of wireless networks.
? Client Relations ? demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications; must be able to work individually on a client site and provide value to client with little direction beyond initial scope definition
? Project Management ? Assure quality assurance, timely deliverables, and proper documentation of project deliverables as an individual or as team leader of a engineering team of peers, juniors, client personnel, and vendor resources.
? Staff Development - assist engineering manager in developing goals and objectives for the project, Assist staff with appropriate leadership, feedback and direction; Insure staff understands and achieves company goals, provide technical guidance to project team members
? Thorough knowledge and experience in at least two major wireless technologies.
Technical Experience:
? Supervisory knowledge of system design and implementation processes for specific technology.
Hands on, and supervisory experience - creating Link Budget, and site selection; Understanding of Cell Site Hardware and Network Architecture; Antenna selection;
? Proficient on Frequency Planning Process: Perform co-channel and adjacent channel interference testing and analysis, Work with Regulatory on Spectrum Issues, plan long term frequency planning
Hands on and supervisory experience ?in channel assignments and assigning frequency hopping sequences; Experience in minimizing interference and capacity management
? Proficient on System Optimization and Network Performance: Create Optimization Guidelines for the project. Develop processes for data collecting, work orders and reports to the client.
Hands on and supervisory experience ? Cluster and network optimization processes, meeting required KPI's; Troubleshooting interference and coverage issues; thorough understanding of hand-over algorithms; Experience in setting optimization parameters for optimum system performance; Understanding and implementation of Network features (i.e. AMR, DTX,); Experience in data collection and post processing; Experience in working with OMC's and reviewing network statistics;
? Proficient in at least two of the following technologies - CDMA, GSM, or UMTS with specific experience implementing a UMTS network.
? Must have knowledge of how design criteria such as coverage, capacity, traffic and mobility effect the throughput requirements of an UMTS network.
? Must have knowledge of KPI?s that measure the quality of UMTS networks as well as performance levers to improve them.
