SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING SPECIALIST

JOB DUTIES: The successful candidate will be required to design and develop C++ and Java real time software for our next generation multimedia products.  Design will include use of the latest development tools and technologies.  In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for project planning and monitoring of small to medium sized projects.  The candidate must be able to work in a high-energy team oriented environment with a talented team of systems and software engineers. 

EXPERIENCE: At least 5+ years experience developing real time C++ and Java software programs, preferably in a Unix environment.  Knowledge and understanding of C++.  At least 2 years project management experienceExcellent communications, debug and testing skills.  Familiarity with design patterns, XML, and UMLFamiliarity with network protocols (UDP/IP, TCP/IP) and socket programming.  Familiarity with streaming protocols (RTSP, RTP, 3GPP), wireless technologies, audio and video codecs is a plus.  Working knowledge of tools/techniques such as ClearCase, ClearQuest, Eclipse, Ant, JTest, Java IDEs, C++ IDEs, etc.At least 1 year of experience with Windows development using DirectShow and/or QuickTimeGood communication and interpersonal skills required in order to effectively interact with team leaders and technical staff.

EDUCATION: Education: Bachelor?s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering  or Electrical Engineering
