Position Summary: 

 

The Senior Engineer is responsible for the validation and verification of CDMA (1X/EVDO) handsets in relation to native applications. The Sr. Engineer will be involved in mentored test engineers, create and executing test and test development lifecycle of mobile systems and mobile applications.

 

Job Duties: 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

* Periodically review Product requirement Documents (Product Specification), transform these into Manual Test Plan, implement these into testing of Amp?d device for North American Markets.

* Delegated development tasks, responsibilities and timelines to individuals in the Device team.

* Devised requirements and specifications for implementation in the automation framework based on feedback from internal R&D and Test teams.

* Participate in full test development lifecycle for handsets ranging from specification requirements to implementation, testing, and product support.

* Mentored test engineers through the entire phase of project development, implementation and support

* Provide mobile data application support, including internal and customer interoperability tests for native applications, Brew and Amp?d UI etc.

* Interface with Internal Development team and other test teams to support Amp?d devices for international markets such as Japan, Canada and USA.

* Manage project progress and encourage active interchange of technology expertise with other internal development teams

* Research, learn and implement new technologies and algorithms related to mobile software systems and applications.

* Assist creating automation & test development lab.

* Work extensively on Phone application and communication module development

* Liaison with in house and other engineering teams and fulfill their requirements for testing of Amp?d devices.

* Must have prior experience in device testing and device application development.

* Good communication skills and cross functional work experience is a must.

* Should have a strong knowledge of CDMA standards and protocol.

 

Qualifications: 

 

* Position requires a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science with 6 to 8 years equivalent experience.

* 5+ years experience in CDMA engineering and development

* Experience using C/C++/C# Plus

* Knowledge of wireless telephony services, applications, and associated protocols and standards is a big plus

* Should have experience in working with RS232, JTAG Debugger environment.

* Must have strong experience working on Phone source code and phone application development

* Ability to handle multiple activities and have a flexible, positive attitude

* Strong trouble shooting skills in a complex system
* Experience in leading development projects

* Highly self-motivated team player with problem solving capability

* Must have good verbal and written communication skills

* Willing to travel up to 25% or more if required

* Willing to Relocate.
