Job Summary:
This position is responsible for all aspects of Project Management involved in the growth of Wireless NSS-BSS equipment installation of the West Region Market Areas. The Project Manager (PM) develops work plans and timelines for the execution of the capital program to support network growth. This position will manage multiple projects, all activities and teams necessary to deliver projects on schedule and within budget while satisfying agreed upon customer requirements and specifications within the scope of the project. Interacts closely with project managers, engineers, and senior management to develop and deliver detailed project documentation, project plans and project implementation schedules. The PM interacts frequently with equipment vendors to coordinate a wide variety of switch and network element installations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage scope, schedule and cost. Assigns roles and responsibilities for project teams. Identify and assemble resources from all disciplines (Engineering, Operations, Local Markets, other departments) as required. Ability to manage project team and team members in a matrix environment. Create comprehensive project schedules in MS Project and other necessary documentation. Control and track project progress (in Microsoft Project); mitigate negative impacts to schedule. Ensure project execution complies with the approved standards, procedures, and methodology. Facilitates team meetings as required. Monitor timelines and milestones for changes and corresponding project impacts; manage to strategic dates as provided by the Program Office and/or Executive Sponsor. Tracks project issues and develops action plans until resolution. Familiarity of Ericsson, Nortel, and Nokia switching hardware and software is beneficial. Interface and work with vendors as required on project requirements. Strong communication and presentation skills both oral and written. Consolidate, disseminate, and communicate project information and provide status updates to project team members, corporate, region, and local markets. Must have strong project management background, excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team in a variety of projects. Lead project teams through the entire life cycle of the project, coordinating interaction with all functional groups. Demonstrate management, team building and planning skills. Ability to think creatively, work under pressure and demonstrate strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and effective communication. Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments. Solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision. Clearly and concisely present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills. Strong customer and results orientation. Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse corporate cultures.

Education and/or Experience:College degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management or any combination of equivalent experience and education. 5 or more years experience in project management, cross-organizational project management is a plus. 5-10 years in wireless telecommunications, preferably GSM working knowledge of the PMI project management principles. Must be proficient in use of computers, especially with MSOffice (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, and Visio).
