Job Description: Senior IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Engineer

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

T-Systems Inc. (www.t-systems.com) is currently seeking an experienced Senior IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Engineer to support design and testing of next generation Converged Voice and IP networks. The position is located in the heart of the telecom industry in Reston, Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the testing, implementation and delivery of state-of-the-art IMS products and services for deployment globally. Travel up to 20% to Europe is required. Will be expected to perform other duties as assigned, and maintain regular, predictable attendance.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Masters or PhD in Technical Field from a renowned university 10-15 Years relevant experience


Technical background requirements: Hands on experience with Converged VoIP solutions wired and wireless Hands on and in depth know-how of SIP protocol and 3GPP Standards. Planning and design of wireless infrastructure using IMS, SIP, UMTS, Wireless and other related protocols. Experience with migration of current VoIP services from wired to wirless and WiFi Experience with technology and vendor selection for IMS components Knowledge and experience of IP-based networks and systems ? VoIP, SIP, RTP protocols Prior experience with Wifi, WLAN, VLAN, QoS, MPLS. Prior experience with testing and deployment of IP transmission and switching environments, especially with IMS/VoIP systems Monitoring and troubleshooting experience of VoIP networks Experience working on a variety of networks/projects


Experience in LAN/WAN environments Knowledge of emerging VoIP technologies and applications Experience building up VoIP networks from scratch. Developing test plans, to test IMS, VoIP. Knowledge of VoIP Soft switch, Media gateways, Media gateway controllers Session border controllers. Monitoring and troubleshooting experience of VoIP protocols and networks


Additional Desired Knowledge Knowledge of Ericsson, Sonus, Siemens or other VoIP and IMS products desirable Knowledge of Broad Soft, ACME packets is a plus. Knowledge of scripting using Perl, CGI, XML, TCL/TK etc. Good communication skills
