Position Summary Responsible for sales (national dealer accounts, sales contracts, Term Sheets, sell-in & product sell-through) within assigned Master Distributor to maximize Samsung market position, product penetration and profitability. Directs the use of Samsung resources cross-functionally, to achieve the assigned sales goals and business objectives. Manages the master distributor account plan implementation nationally through coordination with client?s district sales offices in a matrix structure. Develops Distribution strategies and positioning activities to enhance distributor and dealer growth. Responsible for acquiring and managing new dealer contracts, product commitments, stocking and purchase orders. Directs all sell through programs nationally as implemented by Samsung/ distributor marketing & sales personnel. The most critical performance measurements & the incentive compensation for this position are based on sales results as related to contract term sheet for assigned distributor. The Sr. Manager is responsible for the management of sales expenses and marketing development funds/budgets (MDF) within assigned customer account. Qualifications * A Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or a business related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
* 8-10 yrs. Telecommunications product sales or marketing leadership experience at a territory, division or national account sales level.
* Ability to quickly identify market and sales opportunities within wireless product technologies.
* Experienced in wireless equipment technology sales strategies and marketing methods.
* Self directed leader and developer of others.
* Must be able to write, read, analyze, interpret, present and explain wireless terminals technical product and development materials.
* Must have experience with Microsoft Standard Office Suite and extensive use of presentation software within a Windows/NT LAN/WAN network environment. Duties & Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned. In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent will:
* Develops and manages marketing strategies and incentive plans with Distributor sales managers to improve competitive advantage within the assigned distributor account.
* Ensures profitability of sales and marketing activities within distributor account.
* Identifies & develops proactive plans to correct sales & marketing issues within assigned key accounts.
* Makes customer sales calls to identify inventory/product requirements, to make recommendations to roll-out new products, to produce quick product turns and to evaluate effectiveness of subordinates.
* Ensures adequate training for customers and subordinates in product features, functionality & user applications to promote Samsung over competitor products.
* Develops quotas for the key accounts within the assigned and initiates customer purchase orders for all accounts within the assigned key accounts.
* Develops strategies and customer management plans for divisional team and in cooperation with other division managers.
* Reports all activities regarding sales, competitive position and customer issues/inquiries to National Sales Manager.
* Works with territory & national account managers to identify sales opportunities within sales channels of assigned division.
* Develops Samsung Customer Sales Advocacy capable and willing to sell and promote the sale of Samsung products.
* Visits, Trains & Coaches sales personnel in assigned cities
* Initiates and manages proactive strategies to take advantage of sales opportunities.
* Directs marketing initiatives through special events, manages MDF funds/budgets to promote sell-through.
* Provides excellent customer service, develops & maintains positive customer sales relationships through sales calls, customer visits and by overseeing customer product deliveries.
* Makes regular sales calls to key customer?s regional and national accounts within assigned territory.
* Takes proactive initiative to improve customer sales performance
* Participates as a member of the key product launch committees that affect assigned major account(s) to ensure effective launch of new products regionally and nationally.
* Develops strategies and new product roll-out plans, deliveries, & inventory of assigned headquarter national account(s) and for all carriers/channels within the assigned key accounts.
* Identifies and draws attention to critical Samsung market issues and business development opportunities
* Plans launch strategies for assigned key accounts in conjunction with national initiatives.
* Prepares subordinates for time schedules and plans for product launches within assigned key accounts.
* Identifies new sales opportunities/channels and openly shares business development information and opportunities with other Division Managers and team members.
* Coordinates customer call initiatives.
* Manages marketing, travel and sales budgets to ensure profitability of sales and marketing activities within assigned account responsibility.
* Effectively monitors marketing development funds to ensure most cost effective use of resources.
* Manages the development of subordinates to improve sales skills, product knowledge and marketing abilities.
* Trains subordinates to take advantage of and effectively implement industry changes and new product introductions.
* Utilizes available training resources and product introductions to train subordinates in development of marketing strategies.
* Provides personal coaching to training to individual needs. Physical / Mental Demands The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
* Work is generally performed in an office environment.
* Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal 25% of work time, including prolonged periods of time.
* The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds.
* Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical and including: time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and business management stress.
* Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated with PC?s, printers, and office work areas.
* Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule.
* Frequent travel to customers; trade shows or STA sites of 50% of time.
* Under very little direct supervision with a high level of responsibility to apply general policies and guidelines where decisions are seldom monitored, consequences of decisions adversely affect operating results and management decisions. Complete access to confidential company data where disclosure may jeopardize the company?s competitive position. Necessary Skills / Attributes for this position the following skills and abilities must be demonstrated at a proficient level:
* Demonstrated ability to Interact at all levels within customer?s organizations and within the STA organization. The ability to negotiate with and convince others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including customer leadership, VP?s, directors & managers, staff, and vendors with opposing views to accept/approve plans, technical and project recommendations.
* The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects, sales and promotional programs and simultaneous performance objectives.
* The ability to write, read, interpret, explain and act on thorough understanding of technical documents, engineering materials and contracts or related documents based on corporate legal and customer applications, engineering standards and business philosophy.
* Ability to make professional sales and business presentations in writing, through email, reports, or orally, including complex business and technical matters to an audience of high technical skills, management and operational experience.
* Ability to direct sales staff to achieve customer sales objectives, team goals and to achieve results within established time frames and requirements. The ability to develop specific sales and business plans and metrics, to clearly define results to be achieved, to make decisions, to give direction, and to measure individual/team performance and sales results.
