Senior Traffic Engineer - Translations

Senior Traffic Engineer-Translations:  builds, modifies, upgrades, troubleshoots and maintains translations for Switches, DACS, Routers and other adjunct platforms.  Provides accurate records of work done on DACS, Switches, Routers or any other equipment.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 Maintain switch integrity through performance of the following software translations:Code Openings (NPA/NXX, CIC, etc)Local Number Portability (LNP).Number PoolingBuilding customer specific dialing plans8YY routingAdjusting routing during outagesBuild Network trunk groups to LECsBuild script files to assist in translations work.Perform AMA capture to ensure accurate billing/routing.Perform Translation trouble analysis; resolve and assist with translations issues that are beyond normal scenarios.SS7 Link translationsDocumentation of all network configurationsTroubleshoot and repair any translations and feature issuesLeast Cost routing implementationDxD analysis in Lucent 5ESS and Flexent ECP/AP complexMaintain accurate records of all turn-ups, cutovers and report them to the proper department.Act as technical support for other departments.Ability to use LERG to open new NPAs, NXXs, LRNs

 

Qualified candidates must have good verbal & written communication skills. Have knowledge and experience with Wireless PCS and/or Cellular networks, posses good Interpersonal Skills and Teamwork building skills, excellent Problem Solving/Decision Making skills, and be able to work with minimal supervision and provide timely and accurate work output. Project management, excellent communications, organizational & interpersonal skills and be Self Motivated.

 

Education:  Bachelor?s Degree or directly related equivalent experience; plus 5-7 years Lucent CDMA experience.

 

Experience includes:Lucent ECP, 5ESS TranslationsCapacity and/or performance planning and engineeringKnowledge of Tellabs 5500 DACS, digital networks,MS Office suiteLERGComprehensive knowledge of equipment & translations for Lucent 5ESS
