Service Department Manager / Dispatcher

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is for a working supervisor.  In this role you will be responsible for service call intake from our customers, dispatching of our field technicians, dealing with scheduling issues and conflicts acting as a front-line representative for the company

 

Responsibilities Responsible for taking calls from customers in a small (under 4 person) service department from customers needing service on their telephone systems Discussing problems with customers over the telephone to ascertain if a field visit is needed of if the problem can be solved over the telephone Coordinating with our Service Manager and the customer to see that the service orders are scheduled properly. Inputting customer service calls into computer system and assisting with scheduling technicians Communicating with technicians (about 6) via email, 2-way radio and voice mail on a regular basis. Responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed notes and system information for projects that you are working on.  Responsible for problem resolution dealing with system service including coordinating with our Service Manager as well as other field installers  Submits status reports to management summarizing completed projects/tasks. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS (some or all of these requirements are required):Exposure to telecommunications technology and structure is a MUST, specifically telephone systems and equipment installed on a customer premise (key systems, PBX systems etc).  We've also had good luck with people who have worked in the CATV industry You MUST be able to "multi-task".  Ability to work in a very fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment Proven knowledge of desktop software including MS Office Windows and Outlook. Ability to work with customers, management and engineering personnel at all levels.  Ability to prioritize work assignments and focus on most critical tasks.  Reliable transportation (work is in house) Ability to work independently and to use common sense and sound technical judgment to complete assignments in a timely manner. Good communication skills, both oral and written. Must possess the aptitude to learn new technologies Have the ability to work as a team player
