Software Engineer

Wireless Matrix, a profitable and growing wireless communications company is expanding its engineering team and has an immediate opening for a multi-talented Programmer/Engineer who brings a broad range of systems programming experience.

 

Our clients rely on us to provide the hardware and network that mobilize and enable communications of remote fleets and assets.  As such, we are looking for a mid-level ?Jack of Many Trades? Programmer/Engineer to join our growing team.  In your role, you will work with a variety of cutting-edge technology.  You will be responsible for developing, testing, modifying and maintaining operational software for business and networking systems.  These systems will be extremely diverse and may include a network traffic monitoring system, a database infrastructure, and a customer facing web-portal and reporting system. 

 

In this role will have the opportunity to touch and affect a variety of functional areas.  You are looking to learn and add experience to your growing resume, not someone who knows it all already.  You are adaptable to new ideas and open to learning new ways of doing things. You are smart, genuinely interested and eager.  You will self-direct your work under general supervision and integrate into project teams quickly. 

 

As a Engineer/Programmer, you will: 

 Assist in development and maintenance of new and existing applications.Assist internal staff as needed with system diagnostics and troubleshooting. Work with a team that understands the value of hard work but insists on having fun doing it. Often attend work events such as a half day of golf or a casino party. Work with a choice team of talented and committed professionals.

 

Here is what you offer Wireless Matrix:

? Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.

?3-5 years systems programming experience in C/C++.

? Application development experience on Windows NT/2000/XP or Linux/Unix platforms.

? Experience with multithreading, sockets programming required.

? Knowledge of database design, SQL, Oracle databases preferred.

? XML, XSLT, .NET, Java/J2EE experience, a plus.

? Ability to travel occasionally.

? Available occasionally for off-hours maintenance windows for software upgrades, etc.Ability to successfully pass a credit, criminal and employment reference security check.
