Sr. Communications Engineer

Sr. Telephony Engineer - Company Brief: Our client is an aggressive Federal Integrator well known for their ability to provide state-of-the-art consulting and professional outsourcing services.  With a great reputation and an expanding backlog of Federal and commercial work, they now seek a Sr. IP Telephony Engineer that is a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) to join their Northern Virginia office. 


 


Job Description: Reporting to the Program Manager, the Sr. IP Telephony Engineer will provide integration services for complex Voice-Over IP (VOIP) and IP Telephony (IPT) projects which may include the implementation and design of converged networks utilizing Cisco products. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) for clients throughout the area.  Some local travel is required.  US Citizenship is required and a degree is preferred.  Our client offers an excellent benefit plan and an aggressive compensation plan to $110K or more, depending upon your experience and education. 


 


Qualifications: Ten (10) years of experience and a college degree preferred. Equivalent hands-on work experience will be considered.  Cisco CCIE is required and CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CIPT certifications preferred. Minimum of 5+ years network design, deployment, and support is required and you must possess a working knowledge of VoIP, QoS, AVVID, CCM, CCME, and Unity. Strong familiarity with Cisco configuration tools. Comprehensive knowledge of emerging network technologies and protocols. Strong verbal and written communication and customer interface skills are mandatory.
