Sr. Communications Systems Engineer
We are currently searching for Senior Communications Systems Engineers to join our R&D group in San Diego.
You will be responsible for the design, test, and documentation of complete WiMax Systems, including physical layer algorithms, implementation in FPGAs, ASICs, DSP, SW, reference designs, field trials and production development. This includes architecture development, simulation, implementation and verification. Additional responsibilities will include WiMax qualification and regulatory test support, and product demonstration preparation. This person will be closely working with the design, marketing, and sales departments to provide the best solutions to meet customer needs. Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are essential.
Skills and Experience required for this position:
Must have 5+ years experience in design, specification, architecture, simulation and integration of wireless communications systems. Must have strong theoretical RF/analog, digital signal processing, and MAC understanding as well as strong simulation/coding and implementation background. Must also have very strong lab skills and be prepared to lead evaluation efforts in the lab.
? MSEE required. PhD preferred, but not required.
? Must have experience designing and simulating digital wireless communications systems. Such as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access OFDMA systems.
? Knowledge and experience in WiMax, 802.11d, 802.11e and 802.22 is very beneficial.
? Must have knowledge and experience with design tools such as Matlab and C/C++.
? Experience with Maximal Ratio Combining (MRC) and Multiple Input ? Multiple Output (MIMO) systems is a plus.
? Knowledge of link budgets, capacity, and throughput analysis is very helpful.
? Experience in the fabless semiconductor industry is a plus.
? Experience with Low power battery based subscriber station portable products is beneficial.
? Knowledge of design for test, calibration, and system integration of high volume products is desired.
? Cursory knowledge of basic hardware (digital, analog, and RF) and software architectures for wireless data communication systems is a plus.
? Some experience with basic lab equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, digital multi-meters, etc?. is a bonus.
? Familiarity with OA&M, Network Mangement, QoS, Blocking, handoff, queuing, scheduling, etc? is helpful.
