Sr. Software Engineers

Samsung Telecommunication America has an exciting opportunity for two Sr. Software Engineers for our newly formed Advanced Mobile Communications Lab in San Jose, CA.

Position Description:

 

We are looking for a Sr. Lead Software Engineer who will be leading a team of 10 engineers on a variety of new software development projects. We also have an opening for a Sr. Software Engineer to provide senior technical expertise to the organization and provide mentoring and support of the more junior team members on software development projects.

 

You will be part of a team focused on creating cutting edge technologies for the mobile device space. Strong skills in the areas of analysis, design, technical leadership and mentoring are required.  Your team?s main responsibilities will be to development new functionality for the cell phone space and work with carriers and other Samsung groups to successfully deploy the technology.

 

Requirements:

? 8+ years experience in developing new technologies, ideally in the mobile space

? Experience acting as technical lead or senior technical member of staff

? Very strong C skills required

? Embedded platform/system development

? Phone user-interface development

? Application development.

 

Extensive experience in some of the following areas is required:

? UI framework development, ideally for mobile devices

? Strong OO design skills and system architecture

? BREW platform experience

? J2ME platform development

? Graphic library internals

?   Multimedia support on mobile devices

? Embedded OS development

? Performance critical systems

? Knowledge of compiler internals

? Debugging tools on embedded devices
