Sr. Staff Engineer - Wireless Embedded Software

This individual will serve as a technical expert and resource for the management team bringing dual-mode mobile terminal devices to the marketplace.  Responsible for architecture, design and implementation of these terminal devices, specifically Layers 2/3 procotol software and platform support software.
Provide technical guidance to the software development team throughout the full product lifecycle.  Assist in developing project plans and schedules, serve as product line architect and team lead as necessary.  Responsible for the development and verification of software architecture, software system models, and product software. Write software requirements, design specifications, software models, source code, and test plans.  Position requires some travel.

 

Qualified candidates will have 8+ years experience in design, development, and verification of complex Embedded RTOS.  Must have full product lifecycle experience: inception, requirements, design, implementation, verification, customer product integration, and field support.  Experience in the design and implementation of Real-Time / High Performance software required.  Wireless (GSM, GPRS, EDGE, TDMA, WCDMA) experience is required.  Experience in design, development, and verification of platform related software preferred (RTOS integration, inter-processor communication, HW / SW interfacing, etc.) required.
Experience with ARM embedded processors, preferred. Clear ability to learn and grow in Software Engineering skills, required to design, implement, integrate, and maintain complex pieces of software and software products.  Expert in Software Design and Architecture: model-based engineering (UML / SDL / etc.), design patterns, methods, etc.  SDL (Telelogic Tau), including executable models (i.e. code-generation), preferred.  Commercial Product experience required.  Proficient in C/C++, and assembly.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  M.S. Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Software Engineering or equivalent.  PhD preferred.
