NetVersant is currently interviewing for an exceptional Structured Cabling Solutions ESTIMATOR/ ENGINEER. 

 

GENERAL SUMMARY

Works with general supervision of the Director of Engineers, or other designated position to prepare project cost and work completion estimates.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/KNOWLEDGE

- Obtains material take-offs and price lists from blueprints and specifications

- Evaluates plans, sketches and construction designs for cost effectiveness and user viability

- Coordinates walk-throughs, communicates with customers and prepares cost estimates for new and existing business

- Computes estimates of materials, equipment and other labor and work

- Writes technical proposals for release and presentation to clients

- Builds spreadsheets and inputs specification and takeoff information into various software programs

- Comply with all implemented policies and procedures outlined in the Cabling Playbook or Work Flow Process

- May provide guidance to less experienced Engineer/Estimators

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED

- High school diploma; some college preferred

- BICSI RCDD certification or equivalent experience

- 2-5 years in Structured Cabling

- 2-5 years estimating, pricing and bidding in construction industry; 5+ years preferred

- Ability to read and understand blue prints

- Ability to rapidly understand business objectives and combine them with a deep understanding of project management to create, sell and drive effective solutions.

- Motivated, self- starter, ability to work solo or in a team environment

- Effective oral and written communication skills with customers and company personnel

- Knowledge of AutoCAD and WinEstimator or PC based estimating programs preferred

- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access; advanced proficiency preferred
