Systems Engineer / Product Manager - Telecom

Our client is a leader in the telecommunications and electronics field. The opportunity is a permanent or temp-to-perm position for a Telecom Systems Engineer / Product Manager. In this position, you would be immediately responsible for writing and interpreting system requirements, especially requirements for voice and VoIP implementation. Requirements would be generated based on standards, current implementation, customer documents, and your personal experience. Ongoing responsibilities would include interaction with development, prioritization of features, product lifecycle responsibilities, and planning of future products. Our client is seeking detail-oriented, independent candidates.


Your job responsibilities will be to: Generate detailed requirements and specifications; Explain to the development staff the reasons for requirements, preferably based on industry experience; Explain technical issues to sales, marketing, and customers (as an example, for RFP support) and Work independently towards set goals.

Required skills:
? Several years of experience as a System Engineer or Product Manager for a telecommunications equipment manufacturer.
? VoIP (SIP, H.248, etc.).
? Voice (POTS, testing, etc.).
? Asynchronous TDM (DS1, DS3, etc.).
? Standard Microsoft Office package skills.

Desired skills:
? Fiber to the premises technology (GPON, BPON, etc.).
? Telecommunications standards (Telcordia, ITU, etc.).
? Experience working with RBOCs.
? Experience working with rural telcos.
? Microsoft Access experience.

Work location is Norcross, GA. Some international travel will be required. Some participation in early morning / late evening international conference calls will be required. Permanent salary range is $80,000 to $95,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Excellent corporate benefits.
