TRAC Technician for Telecom Company in the Denver Tech Center

We are looking for several Temporary TRAC Technicians. This position could be any shift within a 24/7 operation.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:*

 

JOB SUMMARY: A temporary shift worker who is responsible for the analysis, isolation and correction of

network detected and customer reported telephony outages spanning multiple technologies

including Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC), Digital Switching Systems (DSS) and Transport. Isolate

and correct problems by correlating information from network surveillance equipment,

diagnostic testing, and reported information or accurately route to direct fix organizations and

personnel.
Effectively resolves problems by reconfiguring system parameters in DSS, Host
Digital Terminals (HDT) and other applicable systems, or by coordinating with other appropriate
fix agencies.
Uses trouble ticketing system to identify trends and to correlate outage patterns.
Accurately documents problems including detection information, diagnostic results, and repair
information.
Follows escalation process as necessary.
Interfaces with customer service representatives, dispatch, technical support personnel and telephony service providers to cooperatively resolve problems.
Provides technical support to internal customers including field
technicians.
Works shifts as scheduled.
Provides exceptional customer service to all individuals
and organizations supported.
Complies with all company policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work overtime as needed.

 

MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

EDUCATION:

Associates Degree in a related field or one year

telecommunications or equivalent military experience.

EXPERIENCE:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience operating in a Windows/NT Environment. Excellent PC Skills including keyboarding proficiency.
Exceptional organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience with direct customer contact, and a demonstrated understanding of what constitutes
quality, professional customer service.
Available to work any shift in a 24 x 7 operation.
Demonstrates a broad-based knowledge of the telecommunications field including telephony switching transmission systems and/or HFC cable systems.
 One year experience in a Network Operations Center is advantageous.
Experience in answering telephones, logging events, providing technical support and repair coordination is desirable.
 Must be able to perform effectively in a team environment.
Experience with trouble ticketing systems, DLC Technology, DSS or Packetized Switching, HFC, Transport or LNP.
