Technical Instructor

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

?  Present core, specialty and advanced technical courses to meet stated course objectives either on GK premises or at customer sites.

?  Evaluate student performance against course objectives to determine if student performance meets these objectives.

?  Analyze course critiques for self and course improvements.

?  Provide maintenance of the training department?s switching, classroom and lab equipment.

?  Provide input and technical assistance for the development and modification of technical courses and support materials.

?  Review and provide documentation feedback.

?  Perform as a team member with peers and management.

?  Provide project and process assistance to specialists as needed.

?  Monitor and direct activities of Technical Instructors as needed.

?  Assemble and lead Educational Services teams to ensure successful implementation of new training and/or products and equipment.

?  Travel required based on business needs.

 

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

 

?  BS/BA or equivalent technical or educational degree

?  6 - 8 years related technical instruction experience

?  Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

?  Strong presentation skills

?  Experience with Windows-based PC platforms and applications (e.g., Windows 95/98/2000/XP, Windows NT/2000 Server, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, etc.)

?  Strong Norstar / BCM Installation, Maintenance, and Administration background

?  Thorough knowledge of switching systems and applications technologies or internetworking technologies.  Overall understanding of current telecommunications technologies and products (e.g., basic key and private branch telecommunications systems, Voice Over IP, routers, servers, networks, etc.).
