Technical Instructor Course Developer (Must have networking experience)

This position involves the development of Foundry specific training courseware for our employees, business partners, and end users. Currently, the primary development format is lecture-lab and is quickly expanding to include online formats (web-based and distance learning).

-Develop Foundry specific courseware in the area of Networking ( Layers 2 - 7 ) Switches, Routers and Servers in an enterprise or service provider markets, Configuration, Troubleshooting, and Maintenance using the best media
-Conduct formal needs analysis to determine specific training needs. This will require interfacing with Engineering, Sales, Marketing and Support.
-Develop detailed hands-on labs to support the lecture
-Assist in the development of a curriculum design standard for Education Services
-Participate in the development of a style guides for Foundry Network?s Education Services (online & lecture-lab)
-Participate in mentoring /coaching of new employees
-Assist in the integration of 3rd party courseware into the Foundry Networks? curriculum.
-Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of Technical Support processes and procedures.
-Participate in new product development rollout as it relates to skills development.
-Design and deliver train-the-trainer courses to Foundry and ATP Instructors on new education products.
-Deliver at least one class per month (Classes are typically 1 week in length).
-Frequent mousing and keyboarding
-Frequent phone usage



-5+ years experience developing hands-on sales and technical training in a fast moving environment.
-Proven Instructional Design Skills (including but not limited to ILT and WBT)
-Good verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational skills
-Proven ability in facilitating the design, development, and implementation of processes and procedures.
-The ability to perform classroom set-up which involves lifting up to 50lbs.
-The ability and authorization to travel (domestic and internationally) as required
-Must be able to work overtime as required
-Strong familiarity with network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls
-Must be proficient in MS Office
-Any certifications in networking is a plus



A BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering,
And 5+ years of progressive experience or equivalent experience required. A degree in Instructional Design is highly desired.
