Technical Specialist

Position Summary: Will perform and supervise technical and administrative project work in support of the maintenance and operation of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure of the facilities. 

 

Technical Specialist Position Responsibilities:

1.  Will develop, implement and administer new maintenance standards, as well as work to improve existing standards to support site operations on the approval from the Senior Technical Manager.

2.  Will support the Operations Group with both technical and administrative tasks related to the overall proper operation, maintenance, and training of the facilities nationwide.

3.  Will directly supervise and critique work performance by subcontractors to ensure adherence to standards, schedules and specifications.

4.  Will find and correct maintenance discrepancies and work with Operations management to resolve site issues based on agreed upon priorities.

5.  Responsibilities will include ensuring that operational, maintenance and emergency Methods of Procedures (MOP?s) are developed, reviewed and audited through all stages of the maintenance process for electrical and mechanical support equipment.

6.  Perform on-site management of sub-contractors and vendors.

7.  Schedule necessary preventative maintenance and emergency repairs; and assist in the development and implementation of project plans.

8.  Will support and train new hire personnel in the planning, scheduling and completion of preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance.

9.  Will require the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects, have strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to navigate common word processing programs.

10.  Must be available to work emergencies and off normal working hours as required.

 

 

Job Knowledge Required for Technical Specialist:  

 

1.  Technical Specialist must have 6 years of relevant technical experience with electrical power generating and distribution, mechanical support equipment, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and batteries, and DC Power Systems.

2.  Must be able to interpret operating manuals and component drawings as well as develop procedures for the proper operation of this equipment. 

3.  Must have the ability to use testing equipment such as multi-meters and circuit tracers.

4.  Must have the ability to organize maintenance schedules, coordinate vendor activities, and develop problem resolutions.

5.  Will primarily support facilities in the Western Region of the United States.

6.  60% travel will be required.

7.  Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word and MS Project.

 

Locations of interest are Phoenix, Dallas, Denver, LA, Seattle or the San Francisco Bay Area.  No relocation assistance is offered.
