Great opportunity for an experienced Telecommunications Infrastructure Architect who is recognized as an expert in specific or multiple functional areas. Responsible for high-level systems administration, research, planning, architecture, design and Level IV support of the extremely complex enterprise Telecommunication technologies including an understanding of data networking, computing platforms, and/or collaboration/messaging platforms. Provides cross-discipline expertise, and is charged with assessing the effect & fit of Telecommunication technologies aligning technical solutions with enterprise goals.
Responsible for defining the solution architecture for telecommunication networks, which comprises business process and system flows, global dial plan, associated technical and data architecture requirements associated with engineering and provisioning the necessary equipment. Network technologies include TDM, VoIP, VPN, VLAN, WiFi, and cable telephony. Current and future voice and data services will be supported by the architecture. The candidate must be available for full-time on-site consulting in Abbott Park, IL. The architect will be required to gather requirements, create provisioning flows, and/or network evolution roadmaps, perform the analysis, integration, documentation, and problem resolution. The expectation is to deliver unified, complete, and accurate flows, architectures, requirements, and roadmaps. Inputs will come from customer IT, network, and production organizations. Prior knowledge of IP telecommunications support functions, system operations, network, and process impacts is expected to be applied by the candidate to successfully complete the assignments. Documenting assumptions, constraints, risks, and issues, as well as providing weekly status, to support the project are expected parts of the work effort. Informal influence, high productivity, and working effectively with multiple organizations in a dynamic environment are key success factors. The architect, as part of a team, will play a vital role in the future standardization and simplification of the provisioning an architectural solution for Corporate Infrastructure Technologies. In general, works on solutions of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises good judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, while exhibiting functional expertise working on complex problems requiring a high level of ingenuity and creativity gained through years of practical experience. Frequently contributes to the development of new principles, theories and methods. Often self initiated, work is usually performed independently with minimal direction from manager. The Telecommunications Infrastructure Architect reports directly to the Manager, Corporate Telecommunications.

Qualifications
Candidate should have demonstrated 10+ years of relevant professional experience in a large, diverse, multi-location, preferably global, environment producing telecommunications operations support and network technology specific architectural solutions. Specific knowledge of and experience in VoIP engineering, provisioning, service activation with multiple voice network as Avaya, Cisco, Nortel, Siemens, etc. Experience and knowledge of Centrex access and transport technologies including Lyrix voice mail required. Previous call center design and implementation preferred. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a team-based environment on large-scale projects by interacting smoothly and effectively with management, technical and non-technical staff. Strong verbal, telephone, written communications and organizational skills.
The Telecommunications Infrastructure Architect should have 5-10 years Telecommunications experience with Fortune 500; 5000+ nodes.
