Telecommunications Power / Facilities / Building Surveyor

Job Description:

? Candidate will be performing site surveys and inventory all Power and Building facilities in Telecommunications Central Office environments to include DC Power Plants, Generators, HVAC systems, Batteries, Rectifiers, UPS systems, AC Panels, Inverters, Converters, Distribution bays, Fire systems. Some of the data to be collected includes but is not limited to the following: part numbers, model numbers, readings, dates, assignments, cable sizes, hardware configurations and design layouts.

? Candidate should have a good understanding of the Central Office environment and have experience in working with all aspects of the power and building facilities in Central Offices as outlined above including survey, maintenance, engineering or installation.

? Candidate will be traveling 4 to 5 days out of the week to sites across the country. Travel arrangements are usually made in advance but candidate must be flexible to manage adjustments to schedules and travel changes on short notice. Candidate must have a reliable means of transportation to sites within the area and to the airports.

? Candidate will be interacting with the customer on a regular basis and must have good written and verbal communication skills.

? Candidate will be expected to gather and import the data with extreme attention to detail, with the utmost quality and at a fast pace.

? Candidate must have strong computer skills with emphasis on MS Outlook, Excel, Word and other basic office applications. Candidate must also have the ability to handle various tools and electronics such as laptops, digital cameras, video cameras and cell phones.

? Candidate must be able to perform their work under awkward site conditions as some sites are not equipped with tables or chairs. Candidate may be required to climb ladders, crawl in small spaces, access roofs and basements.
