Jackson, MSTelecommunications carrier is searching for a Switch Technician in the Jackson, Mississippi area to assist with the responsibilities associated with the switching and central office equipment. The candidate must be an individual with experience in telephone switching and central office environments. Responsibilities Include:

 Installation, maintenance and provisioning of equipment, peripherals and environments that are associated with class 5 switching, central office nodes, ATM network and Internet services. Perform standard class 5 switching translations, including, but not limited to, digit routing, LERG updates, trunk groups, and more.Analyze, diagnose and test all call routing, transport (OC12/DS3/DS1/DS0), equipment and environmental issues.Monitor and provide full documented reports for trunk and equipment utilization.Work in all types of central office environments to activate, wire, cable, install, provision, analyze, diagnose, test and maintain POTS, ADSL and HDSL nodes.Assist field technicians with CPE installations of DS1?s, DS0?s, MUX?s, channel banks, IAD?s and more.Provision ADSL nodes and Cisco routers to provide Internet.Read and understand circuit and building layout schematics.Update databases, logs, spreadsheets and emails thoroughly.Work in designated maintenance hour time frame for all service and potentially service effecting issues and projects.Work while being supervised or with limited to no supervision.Requirements for Consideration:

 Minimum of 5 years experience in a switching environment, preferably class 5.Recommend at least 1 year of exposure to central office POTS and DSL nodes.Experience working with all levels of transport equipment, theories and troubles.CLEC operations experience a plus. Must provide own transportation for reimbursed travel to various switching centers and central offices.Must be willing to support team by sharing rotating on-call duties.Must be willing to work some nights, weekends and holidays. About Xfone USA
