INSTALLER AND REPAIR TECHNICIAN

 

 

Guadalupe Valley Telecommunications Cooperative (G.V.T.C.) has a full time opening for an I&R Technician.  This position will be part of our fast paced and innovative Operations department.  G.V.T.C. is the largest telephone cooperative in Texas and our headquarters are located in the scenic hill country area of Smithson Valley.  We service 40,000+ customers/members and our products include telephone, cable TV, Internet service and security systems.

 

GVTC seeks a technician with the ability to perform and knowledge of both aerial and buried cable, installation of drops, station installation, splicing cable pairs and mounts and grounds station protectors, as well as all other duties associated with the I&R technician position.  The ideal candidate must have basic AC/DC and station installation training, sometime spent working in the telephone industry, central office knowledge and the ability to read and understand company documents, technical documents and service orders.  This position will work with various tools and equipment, including TDR and OHMmeter.  The ability to sell our various products and services as well delivering superior customer service are required.  The ideal candidate will also recognize, practice and enforce safety rules and procedures when performing technical tasks.
