BT Conferencing is seeking an energetic individual who is technically competent in web conferencing, and/or web technologies to manage web conferencing products. This Product Manager position requires an individual who can translate marketing and customer requirements into product requirements, manage new product launches including development, negotiation with vendors, will take a hands-on approach to driving and monitoring the day to day progress of web conferencing products and services, and have the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively. In this position you will have the responsibility for the profit/loss of web conferencing products and driving web conferencing product strategy to increase the company?s web conferencing business. The selected candidate will have an opportunity to make a significant impact in contributing to our product strategy including product definition, business case, product launch, business planning/management and related sales, marketing and training initiatives.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include evaluating web conferencing products, positioning, pricing for both wholesale and retail markets, working with other functional groups to launch new products, being the ?go-to? person for web conferencing product questions; increasing the web conferencing business and managing the services on an ongoing basis. He/she will be a primary web conferencing product contact for internal and external communications including technical capabilities and features, product and marketing content for feature requests, value propositions, product road maps, product availability, pricing and documentation.
Direct and work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Work closely with customers, Marketing and Sales groups to provide the appropriate web conferencing products and technical solutions.
Identify and develop documentation suite, from initial vision through product plan, business case, project plan, detailed requirements specification and standard product documents.
Participate in Q/A, training, and implementation.
Assist Sales on presentations and RFPs.
Present at customer sites and/or other meetings requiring PM presentation and product demonstrations.
Manage the release of products from concept/inception to general availability.
Manage vendor relationships including contract negotiation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS Degree in Business, Telecommunications, Computer Science or equivalent experience required/MBA preferred.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Manage a web conferencing product portfolio and the release of new products from concept/inception to general availability.
2+ years of experience in business/web products or conferencing environment.
2+ years of work experience in product management specific to web products, software, Internet, conferencing or telecom industry with a track record of commercial and/or technical achievement and P & L improvement.
Able to deliver to tight times scales, to innovate and 'think outside the box' to deliver products and solutions that meet customers stated requirements.
Ability to interact successfully, in both verbal and written communications, with all levels of management, team members, customers and vendors.
Experience managing multiple projects and strategic customer relationships.
Project management skills.
Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks.
Strategic planning/thinking skills, coupled with analytical, attention to detail and execution skills.
Possess a passion for excellence and a record of successful problem solving.
Ability to identify customer needs, market requirements, product needs and competitive trends.
Manage vendor relationships and feature functionality including contract negotiation.
