Wireless Embedded Engineer

Direct Hire Opportunity in Richmond, VA

 

Main Job Function:

Execute development activities, with appropriate direction, from system definition to integration and testing, for significant portions of the overall system.


Key Tasks:

Complete design and test efforts in line with product development timelines.
Provide thorough documented results for design and test activities on active projects.
Provide input toward more effective and efficient development and test practices.
Utilize all available means to effectively communicate results to peers and next level management, ensuring the message is concise, complete and appropriate to the audience at all times.
Provide technical support for the overall product as required and assigned, including defect corrections and defect tracking.


Qualifications:

Advanced degree in a related technical discipline (e.g., BSEE, BSCS), or equivalent experience in related area


Specific skills, abilities:

Knowledge of wireless systems architectures
Full life cycle software/ hardware development
Thorough understanding of test equipment and test environment necessary to complete design and test efforts.


Desirable areas of knowledge:

Wireless technologies (modulation, coding, MAC protocols, RF).
Data communications (Ethernet, IP, ATM).
In-depth knowledge and expertise with networking standards, practices, tools and techniques
Methodologies for large systems integration and test


Experience required:

5 years+ of postgraduate experience in advanced technology development environment
