Position Summary:

Wireless Field Engineer is responsible for developing detailed wireless site requirements including site assessment, path analysis, feasibility, spectrum evaluation, facilities interface as well as planning, commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting wireless networking communications systems including point-to-point and point-to-multipoint architectures. Approximately 80% of assignments will be in the field.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:Developing detailed wireless site requirements including site assessment, path analysis, feasibility, spectrum evaluation, facilities interface.Planning, commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting wireless networking communication systems.Site build verification and acceptance.RF test and measurement.Supervision of subcontractors including facility, tower services, and trades.System testing, troubleshooting, and corrective action.Perform co-channel and adjacent channel interference testing and analysis.Undertake network performance improvement and optimization tasks. 

Qualifications & Requirements:

?  Minimum 5 years experience developing detailed wireless site requirements including site assessment, path analysis, feasibility, spectrum evaluation, facilities interface.

?  Minimum 5 years experience planning, commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting microwave, cellular, two-way, or wireless networking communications systems including point-to-point and point-to-multipoint architectures.

?  Experience planning, designing, and implementing Local or Wide Area Networks is highly desirable.

?  Candidates must have mastery of the concepts, principles, and practices of RF technology and wireless networking systems including transmission, antenna theory, and propagation.

?  Familiarity with RF spectrum allocations and operational restrictions.

?  Knowledge of support towers, attachments, general construction techniques and trades.

?  Familiarity with data transmission principles and protocols including TCP/IP.

?  RF transmission and measurement experience is highly desirable.

?  Experience using test instruments including VOM, TDM/cable tester, field strength meter, spectrum analyzer, etc. for problem diagnosis and corrective action.

?  Project management experience is highly desirable.

?  Candidates must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

?  Candidates must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and schematics.

?  Flexibility to travel.

?  Bachelor degree in Engineering or Computer Science is highly desirable.
