Wireless Network/Telecommunications Infrastructure specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Create drawings and specifications related to wireless network/telecommunications infrastructure
2. Design structured wiring system to support wireless deployment
3. Perform RF site surveys
4. Investigate RF interference
5. Perform post installation testing
6. Coordinate with building occupants, contractors, etc. during construction
7. Provide designer construction administration services during construction
8. Use technical knowledge as demonstrated by having the Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification in the design infrastructure.

Will perform design engineering for a variety of network infrastructure projects including but not limited to wireless LAN systems and physical layer infrastructure.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements.
Required:
- Working knowledge of engineering design processes including creation of drawings and specifications related to network/telecommunications infrastructure
- Working knowledge of networking principles related to wireless LANs, layer 2 electronics, physical layer infrastructure
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals typical to infrastructure installation projects (designers, end-users, contractors, technicians, etc.)
- Able to learn and understand emerging network technologies.
- Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in engineering (electrical, telecommunications, or closely related field) and a minimum of two years engineering design experience is required

Preferred:
- Engineering Intern (EI) certification or higher
- BICSI RCDD certifications
- Working knowledge of basic data networking principles and standards.
