Production Manager

Tommy Bahama defines elegant tropical living with men's and women's fashions, denim, swimwear, accessories and a complete home furnishings collection. Tommy Bahama, the purveyor of island lifestyles, is looking for qualified Production Manager to join our team in the Seattle Corporate office.

The Production Manager is responsible for tracking all production and ensuring that finished product is delivered on-time and meets established quality standards. This person will monitor and guide the timely completion of comments/approvals post development, in partnership with designers, color/print developer and fit technicians under the supervision of the GMM. Responsible for analyzing all fabric commitments, purchases, and levels of fabric inventory for the division. Ensure that production is on time so we have the proper stock levels and optimal size scales. Place buys with agents. Review, process and approve all fabric and garment testing. Track and monitor production of the sample line. Assist new vendors in all TB process and procedures.

Key Result Areas:

Production/Product Integrity
? Responsible for daily production issues (shipment, quality, samples) and system updates.
? Maintain production status report.
? Create and track production timeline.
? Oversees production of samples and all seasonal sample tracking.
? Aware of costing information as it impacts FOB pricing and Gross Margin.
? Analyze fabric commitments.
? New vendor set-up ? communicate with new vendors all pertinent information.
? Hangtag/label liaison between vendors and Tommy Bahama Womens.
? Review and track all fabric/garment testing and finalize care instructions with vendors.
? Travel to visit Agents on design and production feasibility.
? Maintain buys in system and update all information in a timely manner.

Profitability
? Work with Agents and GMM to make sure all set price and delivery criteria are met ? stay informed of all elements that could impact garment pricing and/or delivery.
? Develop seasonal fabric commitments to ensure a consistent and timely production flow. Minimize liability on any leftover fabric.

Internal/External Communication
? Close communication with TB Retail Buyer. Advise any changes to the assortment and updates to production that would impact Tommy Bahama retail orders.
? Communicate to Customer Service and Allocations any delivery extensions and quality issues that we have accepted for production that may impact them.
? Advise Merchandise Assistant on any changes to bulk production that would impact cost sheets, HTS codes or quota categories, etc.
? Attend Weekly Ship Meetings ? stay informed about any issues that impact production shipments.

Accuracy/Quality Control
? Review Cut and Sold report for accuracy on style and purchase info.
? Work with Traffic Manager when production is in process to address styles with any delivery issues/concerns.
? Work with Retail buyers to ensure all sales are keyed in on a timely basis so that their inventory needs are covered.
? Set up and publish production tracking form for all buys. Work closely with Design on production that is in process to make sure that strike offs, lab dips, and approval samples are confirmed on a timely basis so there are no delivery delays.
? Input and maintain buys in to Production Entry screen including extension requests.
? Consistently review size scale breakdowns in order to maximize and cover sales.
? Review and approve L/C drafts with accounting.
? Track and issue claims to factories regarding price discounts due to problems on quality, delivery, etc.
? Review production quality issues with Design.
? Attend fit meetings as needed.

Experience, Talent, and Education:

7-10 years of Apparel Production background
Experience with the apparel design process from concept to production
Experience developing vendor/manufacturing relationships
Knowledge of garment construction and technical specifications
Understanding of buying practices
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Good organizational skills and attention to detail
High level of analytical and math skills
Flexibility to travel, if needed
Strong computer skills ? super user with Excel
Good people management skills
