Production Planning Manager

The person in this position will oversee the activities and staff related to production planning and finished goods inventories. This will include monitoring the production plan to meet the sales forecast while maintaining optimum finished goods inventory levels.

 

Primary duties and responsibilities:

 

?  Develop a consensus production plan to meet sales forecast while working within the budget.

 

?  Act as a liaison for Production Planning with Demand Planning and all other Fulfillment functions - communicating and troubleshooting issues, problems and concerns in executing the production.

 

?  Manage and monitor production plan and makes appropriate changes to the plan based on approved recommendations.

 

?  Manage and monitor staff associated with the planning of production including: hiring, discipline, development, budgeting, etc.

 

?  Develops departmental and function related policies, procedures and processes.

 

?  Monitor, improve, and maintain optimum finished goods inventory targets and levels.

 

?  Maintain and enhance the tracking of production.  The tracking process will include all functions from planning production to production order entry through arrival of finished goods in the DC.

 

?  Communicate with demand planning, product entry, sourcing and purchasing to coordinate deliveries that satisfy the production plan. 

 

?  Provide assistance and guidance to Carhartt Europe as necessary in order to meet the production plan and optimum finished goods inventory level.

 

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

 

?  Bachelor?s degree in business or equivalent work experience required.

 

?  Minimum of 5 years in the apparel manufacturing industry preferred.

 

?  Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.

 

?  Well developed analytical and problem solving skills.

 

?  Microsoft office applications, Word, Excel and Powerpoint required.

 

?  Ability to work within assigned procedures and precise tolerances in an organized manner.

 

?  Ability to communicate (verbally, orally and in written form) well with many different areas of the company.

 

?  Detail orientated.

 

?  Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.  Has a proven track record of meeting deadlines.

 

Working conditions:

 

?  Normal office environment; cubicle setting.

 

?  Some travel required - 10% (including international)
