DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the technical design and all related functions of seasonal line development for an assigned segment of business. Must clearly understand market and fashion trends and have the ability to interpret correctly into saleable designs for our consumers. Must develop an understanding of our look, spec and fit, along with our manufacturing capabilities and limitations. Assume a leadership role in communicating and giving direction to Pattern and Sourcing Departments. Function under general direction.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

?  Participate in overall direction, concepts and trends to establish color, fabric, trim, fit and style selection.

?  Research market to determine trends in fit, spec and style.

?  Assist in the development of original textile designs including prints, yarn-dye plaids and stripes, screen prints and embroideries.

?  Establish all technical drawings in Web PDM/IGrafix Designer and assign product development number.

?  Establish all styles directly with Pattern Design communicating desired end look, giving direction on fabric for proto types, specs, and fit. Initiate and maintain proto requests. Make MV comments on all protos, sales samples and pre-production samples.

?  Prepare all costing packages including drawing and fabric/trim specifics. Must have complete knowledge of seasonal line, base fabrics, color palette and trim details.

?  During peak periods, create design specs in Web PDM system based on line plan. Must have full knowledge of Web PDM, understanding of each style, base fabrics, trim and graphic placement. Fully responsible for all revisions and updates.

?  Assist Designer in designating specific art placement of screen prints, embroideries, and appliqu? for Pattern Design and Graphic Artists.

?  Complete all tasks according to corporate calendar. Must fully understand definition of each line item. Accuracy and follow through in all aspects of the job are essential.



QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

?  BA degree in Fashion Design or equivalent

?  Exceptionally strong creative ability and well developed sense of color and vision

?  Pattern and garment construction knowledge. Understanding of specs and fit
Complete understanding of Web PDM system with ability to establish technical sketches

?  Established leadership, communication and presentation skills

?  Ability to function in a team environment

?  Domestic and International travel required
