Assistant Fleet Manager

 

American Commercial Lines LLC (ACL) is a fully integrated network of marine transportation companies, operating approximately 3,200 barges and 124 towboats on the inland waterways of North and South America.

 

We have an immediate need for an Assistant Fleet Manager responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Lemont fleet in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.Ensures compliance with company policy and government regulations. 

 

Principal accountabilities include:

 

? Assists in managing all aspects of the Lemont facilities and insures that all facilities adhere to local, state, and federal laws.

? Maintains and orders fleet and tugs deck supply inventory.

? Manages shipping, receiving and distribution of supplies to vessels.

? Assists in directing the fleets? safety program. Advises boat & inspection crews on hazards & safety precautions of liquid and/or bulk cargo movements.

? Assists in measuring vendor participation and performance in shared responsibility of meeting internal and external customers requirements.

? Assists in budgeting, scheduling and directing fleet and facility maintenance.

? Tracks fleet cost and billing.

? Assists in shared responsibility with Logistics and Distribution ? Fleet vessel utilization.

? Assists in homeland security requirements and related security duties.

? Maintains required weekly reports.

? Performs other duties as assigned.
