Assistant Tool Manager

This is an opportunity to accelerate your development as our Assistant Tool Manager based in our North American Tool Facility in Portland, Oregon.  The general purpose of this position is to plan, organize and manage the day-to-day operations of the Tool Facility, including training the staff for better advancement on the processes / technical knowledge of tools and equipment to better support the company.  In this position, you will be working in a dynamic working environment fueled with a great team, and the opportunity to grow.  You must possess leadership and training skills and have the ability to facilitate day-to-day management of tool department. You will serve as a resource and liaison between internal customers and project group on technical issues.  The successful candidate will be a team leader and team player.  Working with the Tool Manager, you will help keep the team focused on key objectives that drive company performance achieving ?Inventory Excellence,? and long-term goals for staff.  You must also possess the ability to effectively communicate with our North American and Canada sites to Vestas on-site staff, contractors and customers in supporting ongoing turbine installation.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

? Associates degree or equivalent.

? Requires at least 2-5 years? experiences as a project manager, project lead, or other supervisory / management experience, especially in industrial or construction industry.

? Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics background preferred.

? Inventory management or related experience preferred.

? Tool knowledge preferred.

? Strong organizational skills.

? Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

? Good computer skills.

? Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

? Must be able to travel 10-25%.
