SUMMARY: Assist with operations and managerial duties within a small Distribution Center. Supervise warehouse employees and provide training to ensure that productivity standards are met or exceeded.

 

 

SUMMARY:

Assist with operations and managerial duties within a small Distribution Center. Supervise warehouse employees and provide training to ensure that productivity standards are met or exceeded.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the planning and management of the daily work activities of one or more departments within the warehouse (i.e., processing, returning, and packing) to performance metrics in the areas of: throughput, cost, and customer service.
Assist in maintaining overall quality control within the warehouse.
Supervise and train DC personnel on how to meet and/or exceed productivity standards.
Maximize safety standards and provide a clean work environment.
Implement loss prevention controls and monitor employee activity to minimize company loss due to theft and damage to company property.
Utilize a personal computer, the warehouse management system, and a time tracking system to conduct warehouse operations, communicate with others, monitor payroll/hours, extract information, and process reports.
Conduct performance evaluations and initiate disciplinary actions against warehouse employees when necessary.
Configure and troubleshoot distribution center hardware to include bar code scanners, label printers, personal computers, and pick ticket printers.
May be required to work weekends to support 7-day DC operational schedule.

 

 

 

 



Technical Knowledge/Skills:
Entry level knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
Entry level understanding of WMS functions and how they relate to operational procedures, including receiving, order processing, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting, and reverse logistics

General Knowledge/Skills:
Intermediate written and oral communication skills
Must have a valid driver license (with no more than 3 accidents and/or moving violations in 3 years, no suspension of license, and no DWI or DUI convictions)

Minimum Education/Experience:
High School diploma
2-4 years experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
1-3 years supervisory experience
Associate's degree preferred
