Associate Director, Corporate Transportation

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Security, the candidate will provide strategic direction and leadership for the Corporate Transportation Program in an environment that requires collaboration skills and flexibility to provide a progressive, innovative and efficient program to a diverse campus population. The candidate will oversee the implementation and management of the South San Francisco campus transportation and parking programs and ensure Transportation goals are in alignment with corporate business needs. He/she will effectively direct the preparation and management of budget, personnel and resources to include direction of vendors, consultants and other external assets. The candidate will provide strategic oversight and operational coordination between internal and external teams to ensure effective and efficient service, as well as provide leadership for the development of the Transportation team members. He/she will develop and implement new solutions as needed to meet organizational transportation and parking needs based upon experience, knowledge and an in depth understanding of customer and business needs. The candidate will ensure timely, effective communication between Corporate Transportation, customers and supporting organizations.

Requirements:
A Bachelor?s degree in Business Management and/or a transportation related field is required with a Master?s degree preferred. The candidate must have 12 - 15 years of progressively responsible experience in Transportation programs, preferably in the corporate area, with exposure to and demonstrated competence in all functional areas within Transportation. Prior management experience, preferably in a large corporate environment is required. The candidate must be dynamic and creative in bringing new ideas to the Transportation program with the ability to foster the same within the Transportation Team. He/she must have substantial successful experience consulting with senior level executives and must possess strong business acumen with the ability to think and communicate strategically. The candidate must have a strong customer focus and be able to effectively and quickly build relationships and establish trust, respect and confidence. Strong change management skills are required and the candidate must be comfortable with uncertainty, ambiguity and constant change, yet able to set priorities and execute on commitments. He/she must have a solution-oriented focus, be able to sort through information and develop concise and clear solutions rapidly. The ability to mentor, coach and confidently deliver constructive feedback to Senior Managers is required. The candidate must be comfortable with the delegation of responsibilities to senior professionals yet take accountability for the team. The ability to foster open and honest communications and to provide direction that is relevant and actionable is essential.
