Branch Logistics Coordinator

Position Summary

This position is responsible for meeting the customer?s transportation requirements working in a locally aligned team environment. Duties include understanding the intimate details of each of eight shipping/receiving docks as well as two additional outsourced vendors. This position will be responsible for maintaining proper labor levels and necessary equipment levels in a twenty four hour/day operation to meet the changing demand of the customer?s supply chain.

Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide excellent service by creating an effective and productive work environment with 17 local CDL Class A drivers and 11 power units.Manage appropriate labor levels to meet the needs of the eight shipping/receiving docks that are serviced.Manage the 53? Dry Trailer and 48? Reefer Trailer equipment levels to meet the needs of the eight shipping/receiving docks that are serviced. Participate in considerable dialogue (and meetings) with several customer managers as well as local vendors and upper management. Complete daily & monthly reports to monitor quantity of freight moved, mileage driven, and reefer hours used.Complete daily reports to monitor quality of driver performance.Communicate equipment damage and coordinate equipment maintenance with fleet manager.Coordinate fueling of power units and reefer trailer units.

Minimum Requirements

The best person for this position will possess a minimum of 5 years of transportation & logistics operations management experience. The ideal person will have extensive knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, HAZMAT shipping, and D.O.T. Hours of Service.
