Cell Leader - Warehouse

    Position Title: Cell Leader ? Warehouse

 

Reports to: Director of Operations

 

Location: Terex Construction Americas, Southaven, MS

 

 

Description:

This position is responsible for the daily operation of a business unit including inbound/outbound shipments, warehousing, assembling, budgeting, planning, inventory control, staffing, and customer service. 

 

Specific Responsibilities:

? Directly responsible for the overall management of the assigned business unit.

? Implement improvements that advance the warehouse/shipping department to an enhanced performance level. 

? Provide strong direction in daily improvements through lean implementation, monitoring all work for quality and timeliness, problem solving and decision making, ensuring safety, and performance management. 

? Develop and manage short and long term plans to achieve business objectives. 

? Communicate with customers and suppliers to guarantee successful distribution (orders arrive and are shipped on time to the appropriate customer and in the expected quantities). 

? Prepare a budget and tracking to ensure the business unit works within budget constraints. 

? Works with other cell leaders to ensure the success of the other cells. 

? Evaluate production operations against forecasted shipment schedules and coordinate or make necessary adjustments to satisfy shipping requirements.

? Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

? Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience; ability to pull teams together and ability to develop people.

? Requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience may be substituted.

? Knowledge of warehouse distribution or related field.

? Proven ability to handle multiple priorities in a continuously changing environment.

? Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, employees and all levels of the organization.

? Excellent problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to lead teams in problem solving activities and create change.

? Good training skills and a strong belief in importance of continuous training and strong orientation towards continuous improvement.

? Good verbal and written communication skills: ability to create partnerships with the Customer Service and Warranty teams, suppliers, and internal manufacturing facilities to support customer requirements.

? Ability to effectively create a vision based on team goals, initiate projects, and facilitate their execution, using available resources and Lean techniques.

? Demonstrated understanding and support of company policies and procedures.

? Demonstrated high respect for people as individuals and as members of the team.

? Excellent understanding of Lean manufacturing techniques, preferred training in JIT.

? Experience and accomplishments in managing a materials flow process that is in accordance with accepted JIT practices and lean manufacturing concepts.

? This position must not only sustain the level of Lean already implemented, but be willing to take the Business Unit to the next level.

? Demonstrated understanding of financial management a plus.

? Ability to travel as required.

? Flexibility to work flexible hours and weekends.
