Collections Associate--Part-time Afternoons

Job Summary

 

Provide circulation support for the NLS recorded cassette collection, Braille collection, and older format collections, including quality control. Provide warehouse support.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

 

1.  Process portion of daily interlibrary loans for next day shipment, including pulling books, inspecting books, boxing books, and shipping.*

2.  Dispose and delete damaged books.

3.  Sort incoming shipments of books and materials, as needed.

4.  ?Check out /check in? books using NLS READS circulation software.*

5.  Shelve incoming books on daily basis, as needed.

6.  Assist with adding new RC and BR title to database, as needed.

7.  Assist with shelving allocation and shifts.

8.  Follow all safety procedures and promote a safe work environment.*

9.  Maintain positive relationships with co-workers and supervisor.*

10. Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

 

  1.  High school diploma/GED or combination of education and equivalent experience.

2.  Proficient P/C skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and data entry experience.

3.  Statistical accuracy and strong organizational skills.

4.  Ability to routinely climb library ladders.

5.  Ability to lift 35 lbs. on a routine basis.

6.  Post offer, pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
