Contract Manager - Warehouse Operations

General Description   The Contract Manager (CM) will coordinate and professionally manage the daily operations of the warehouse for TNT.  Beyond managing the tactical execution, CM must be proactive in looking for ways to improve current operations and work to increase TNT?s business scope as well as thinking strategically, all the while becoming more intimate with the customer?s business. Customer is looking for TNT to drive change in a proactive manner.

 Essential Functions

 

CM tasks along with managing the warehouse and working with customer will include:

? Day to day operation of the warehouse through TNT?s management team

? Manage TNT operations, including supervision and hourly personnel

? Insure payroll processing and invoicing customer correctly for services

? Generate regular, timely metrics

? Regularly communicate with customer personnel

? Manage assets for at the warehouse.

? Responsible for hiring, training and managing the operations workforce (supervision and hourly force) including productivity & cost control

? Primary point of contact for all operational issues with customer

? Work with Business Development team in expanding business scope

? Weekly projections of financial situation, Safety matters, Implementation of changes, TNT reporting

? P&L responsibility for contract (Day to day TNT activities - point person)

? Deal with work load issues

? Position TNT to grow with the customer

 

Job Requirements

 

PC literate, Must have strong written, verbal and inter-personal skills to manage & motivate workforce and others, ability to work in stressful situations, business operates two shifts, self starter, motivator, willing to learn and become intimate with the customer?s business, ability to manage others and get things done, conceptual thinker, past experience in automotive a big plus.

 

Education/Experience

 

Bachelor?s degree in a Logistics related field preferred; 2-4 years direct operations management experience
