Customer Service Rep - Domestic

Brink's Global Services , a world class leader in secure transportation since 1859, is seeking a Customer Service Representative in our Los Angeles, Commodities Department.

 

Reporting to the Director of Commodities, the Customer Service Rep is responsible for assisting commodities customers with general inforjation teaing shipments (international and domestic) and to ensure appropriate clearanice and routing of parcels.  Ensures that all data input work relating to transportation, clearance, import, export and routing of parcels is accomplished and invoiced promptly, accurately and in accordance with proper procedures.  Assists Traffic Coordinators in gathering costs, routing and other information pertinent to the business and service of the customer.

 

Key Responsibilities
Efficiently handles phone inquiries regarding pricing for regular and special shipping routes, and specialized services.
Ensures appropriate documentation is received from brokers and is properly documented and filed.
Handles service complaints dipomatically, channeling pertinent information to appropriate personel.
Enters and updates data relative to shipments into propriatary software program.
Assists in the development of prices to customers and ensuring information is recorded in database accurately.
Prepares special logs, reports and records as required
Ensures compliance of documentation reuqired for all internaitonal moves, including commercial invoices, special customs paperwork, etc.
Ensures proper flow of electronic and other communications to/from affiliates, customs brokers and customers.
Ensures transportation arrangements are made with full consideration of security implications and according to policy
Works with a team of professionals and independently managing a specific client base.

 

Key Requirements:

2-5 years customer service experience in a diverse environment

Superior communication skills; verbal and written

Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel and Lotus Notes

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently, as well as a team player in a dynamic work environment

Professional appearance and demeanor.  Enthusiastic persona with the ability to influence.

BA Preferred.
